MY NEW CHRISTMAS BOWL AND CHRISTMAS

I finished putting up all my decorations, and put my big dough bowl on the table, trying to decide what to put in it.  Now I guess I don't have to wonder, my other cat likes to lay in it also. I guess they think it is their new bed. Well, I have been busy working on new patterns, I have 2 new Annies almost done, one for Easter and one for Valentines day.  I was going to try out the pdf software my hubby bought for me but guess what, it doesn't work.  It won't load.  So we have to take it back to Staples next week and hopefully they will have another one. I wanted to try my hand at e-patterns.  I am working on blog for my other pattern site, that will be only for pattern updates and tips and techniques only , this will still be my main blog, I will post most everything here,  but the You are Special updates.  So keep checking, I will be posting the link to that one soon.
My friend Becky is up from Orlando, Christmas night, Becky and her husband Steve stopped by for a bit.
She lost her mom this year also, so has been a hard year for her also. I don't get to see her often, but is always nice to catch up. Her hubby works for Disney World in Orlando, so we are planning a trip to go down and meet up with her and Steve and  go to one of the parks at Disney.  They are able to get us in free as he works there, so looking forward to that.

We went to Walmart the other night, bought lots of markdowns, then she came back home with me and we stayed up half the night, working on her a blog, so she will soon have one up.  She does the most amazing quilts and quilted items.  Here is a sneak peak of one of her quilts.

I wanted to share a couple of pics of our Christmas before the New Year. Can't believe it is only a few days away.  I am ready for the New Year to start, but always sad too, next year starts a different phase, have to learn to live with just my husband, as my daughter is almost ready to move out.  She is the most amazing daughter, thankfully she won't be far, and we get to watch our "grand dog" during the day while she is working as that is one dog that can't be left alone, she will chew up anything in reach.

Of course, Hurley had to get in the picture.  We bought her a big bone, trying to keep her from helping unwrap the packages. Didn't work of course.

Then our cat Crybaby had to jump in there too.  I guess he was afraid he was missing something also.

Well, I have a good book, getting ready to read some before bed, I love this time of night, everyone else is in bed and I have the house to myself.

  5. I rec'd the snowman giveaway the day before Xmas. I didn't open the box as my Dad began to spiral downward. He passed on the 26th & my husband & myself were right there for his last breath. The family stayed on with getting together on the 27th. I had no Xmas decor, so I opened my box to see the most beautiful centerpiece you created. So many compliments rec'd and the scent is wonderful! It will be treasured and I thank-you so much.
I, too, am learning to live with my husband again. Dad had come to live with us a little over a year ago, so our home is feeling very empty right now, as well as my heart. It was only a month since my Dad's stage IV diagnosis.
Ringing in the New Year will have a totally different meaning for you and I this year. I do hope that yours is met with continued love, happiness and inspiration. ~.~

  7. Sandy, Sorry you lost your trencher! Your kitty seems so happy in it though! I recently brought home a really large woven basket, almost buttock from TS and same thing happened to me! They just want to be a part of our lives in more ways than one! Your friends quilt is beautiful! Glad you were able to spend time with her.
