Got my results back today

What a hard day it was today. My daughter took off work for me and went with me.  I got right in on time. My doctor came in and said it wasn't terrible news.  She confirmed it was lymphoma and assured me it could be treated. Next week I have to have a bone marrow biopsy and pet scan, then they will decide what to do.
She said it might be a wait and watch.  The pet scan and biopsy will determine which stage it is.  But she said it is a low grade lymphoma and If I had to have cancer, this was one of the better ones to have. I was so relieved, I burst into tears coming out of the office.  So if nothing else shows up on the Pet scan next week, it looks like I am finally going to have some peace of mind. At least tongiht I am more at peace. My stomach isn't hurting as much, so maybe alot of my symptoms were nerves not helping me. So a big thanks to everyone that sent prayers and emails. they really worked.
now I can get back to work and hopefully get some more stuff done.

  1. Wow! Sounds like your doctor is optomistic about your prognosis, which is a good thing. It's terrible the waiting and not knowing. Glad that you are feeling more at ease. Take care.

  3. I have been thinking about you all day and praying for the best news possible. One of my mom's best friends has had lymphoma for years and nothing has been done about it and she is in her late 70's and going strong. I have known this women for years and didn't even realize she had cancer. I pray yours is the same situation. The roller coaster of waiting for news, news, and waiting for more news is so hard and everytime there is a plan it brings some peace as we have discovered on my mom's journey through cancer. I pray for you and your family as you begin a new journey. I LOVE all your patterns and finished items and look forward to seeing you at War Eagle.

  8. I am so sorry but please be otimistic, my aunt and one of my daughters friends. (only in her 20's with 3 small children), were both diagnosed with lymphoma 2 years ago, and are both doing fine right now, cancer free!!! They were both told that if they had to have cancer, that lymphoma was the most curable!! I will keep you in my prayers. Hugs,

  9. For me, waiting for the diagnosis was the worst part. Then you formulate a plan of attack and move forward. Holding you in my heart and in my prayers!

  17. Sometimes the wait is so bad, it is a relief to hear the results just to get it over with.

Sounds like your Dr is on the ball, and judging by the comments on here already, you have an awful lot of people on your side, praying for you, being shoulders to cry on and fighting with you every step of the way.
Count me in with those guys!

  24. Sandy,
I kept checking back to see if you posted anything about the results. I'll keep you in my prayers. There is no doubt in my mind that you can handle this Sandy. You are a strong woman and have a circle of family and friends all around you. Not to mention the presence of God. My husband just went thru throat cancer last summer and did fine. I expect to hear the same results from you as well....
    Much love,
