Be sure to enter our giveaways this week.  I am going to get my decorating done this week and start on some holiday baking and recipe sorting.  I am hoping my best friend Carmen will be able to get down to see me for Christmas, she has been very ill and just now starting to recover.  I have a present I am holding hostage for her, she has to come and get it, when she is feeling better and stay a few days with us.

one of our favorite recipes to make is the one for Whiskey balls

1 1/2 cup vanilla wafers

1/2 cup rum

3T. Bourbon or brandy

1 cup ground pecans

1 cup powdered sugar

2 T> Cocoa

3 T. Karo syrup

Roll vanilla wafers and crush between waxed paper.  Add dry ingredients. Mix well.  Add the rum and bourbon, then karo syrup into the mixture. Mix thoroughly, this is very sticky.  Roll into balls, then roll into powdered sugar.

These are so good.  Everyone who tastes them, love them  Even some of my elderly neighbors love them.
