My Mom passed away this past week.

As many of you know, my mom has been ill with Mutiple Sclerois for over 40 years. She has been getting worse. Hospice came in last week and ended up staying for 7 days, night and day. Usually they only will stay 24-36 hours, one of the nurses told me. It was only about 10 days ago, we were talking about her making a quilt, and me helping her pin it in place so she could handstitch it, in her bed. But it seemed that when hospice came in, that she seemed to stop fighting so hard, I think she knew things would be taken care of. She told me they were so good with my dad, they nurse were excellent and very caring. She worried so much about my dad, and that last week, he didn't have to do anything but be there for her. Her pain was getting so much worse, her legs were freezing in place and it was hard to straighten them out. She knew the end was near, but kept hanging in there. We all gave her permission to leave this world, and promised her that we would take care of each other, and she seemed to be at peace. She stayed asleep and was in a coma the last few days of her life. So now the hard part of learning to live without her, but knowing she is in a much better place makes it easier.
A Friend of mine, told me last week, that she had a dream about my mom. She said she saw my mom walking down the hall way of her house and said I thought you couldn't get up out of your wheelchair, and mom looked at her and said "I am all better now". Now she is, no more pain. So thanks to all of you who have emailed and written. We will all get through it, just takes time.

  2. Just stopped by from My Country Home, and I'm so sorry to hear your mum has just passed away.
When a parent has been ill, and in pain, it is oftentimes a blessing that they are spared further.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

  3. Oh, I'm so sorry. It sounds like it was a long time that she was so sick. It must have been so hard on the whole family. I know you will miss her, but she is in a better place, smiling down on you. Big hugs and prayers to you and your family.
