I am still sewing, but not getting as much done as I would like to. I have a new little Annie doll that I finished up a little while ago. I call  her feed sack Annie, the graphics come in the pattern, She has been a good seller for me. I am still using lots of feed sacks on my dolls.
I go for my last chemo treatment tomorrow. I have another pet scan in July, the week before Samantha's baby is born. So depending on whether they find any more activity or not, I may go to yearly visits. I am not curable, but treatable. So, if this next pet scan doesn't anything, they will wait and see if my symptoms come back. It will be a watch and wait. While I will thrilled to be done with chemo and pet/scans, I will also, miss getting that reassurance, I get with the pet scans.
This weekend, I get to meet a friend who I have known through phone calls and face book for several years.  Lesa Soetz and her hubby Paul will be coming and staying several days.We plan on a trip to Disney and St. Augustine.  We plan on meeting up my friend Becky at Disney. Hoping to go to some thrift stores and shopping, while she is here.
Samantha is doing great, won't be long till baby Chloe is here.  We are having her baby shower June 8th, time is sure flying by.  Having fun looking at baby clothes and toys, she is going to be a spoiled rotten little girl.

Samantha's new pattern is called Teddy bear, he  is a little distressed bear and comes with a pillow that is printed on muslin.
A big bunch of dolls, I got finished up for a shop.  I wish I would have kept track of all the dolls I have made this year.

I finally am updating my blog, I feel like I have fallen off the face of the earth at times.  Our wholesale group on facebook keeps Samantha and I really busy.  Last year was one of the busiest I have ever had with my sewing
I did manage to get a couple of new patterns ready.  The Raggedy above is called My Olde Raggedy, she is approx. 27" tall. There is a link on the side bar to purchase e-patterns.
.

This pattern is anew from Samantha's pattern line called  #221  My Ol' Bear. he is approx. 10" sitting. Link on the side bar to purchase.  Bears have been really popular for us last year and so far this year.
#472 My little Bears are approx. 14"-15' tall and made from plush felt. The Panda Bears have been a big hit this past year. so look for a few more panda bear patterns to show up.

Well, we have some good news to share, hubby and I are going to be first time grandparents in July. Our baby is having her first child. We will find out the sex next month. Samantha is planning a gender reveal party.  So I have some showers and a party in the near future.

Well, I am hoping to get back to blogging, I miss all my blogging friends, and i want to thank everyone who has been checking up on me. I am in remission right now. I go back on the 18th of March for another pet/scan and I know I have one more round of chemo to go through in April. So hoping that they don't find anything else.  So it will be a stressful month coming up, but staying extremely busy and trying not too think too hard about what ifs.

Things I have been working on.

Well, I did it, I sent in my cancellation for my big 3 day show this year. I have done this show for 21 years. I felt sad, doing it, but need to move on to other things. I will be starting my chemo again in October or November, I go to my doctor Monday for a port flush and will find out, when.

But I am still doing my favorite one day show and found another one day show, hours are only 9-4 so hoping that will be a new show for the coming years.

Been really busy making my items for the wholesale orders.  Don't seem to have any spare time right now.
Here are a few of the items I have been working on. These Santa ornaments are below on the free pattern download. This is oldie but goodie.

I think I have made hundred of these Santa ornaments, this pattern is also on free pattern download at the bottom of the page.

I took one of the little mice I have been making and put him on a wooden spool and have already pre-sold about 50 of these guys.

These have been selling really well for me also, my #456 Holiday bobbins, I had to order more bobbins and some of the bobbins are getting harder to find.

Working on reindeer ornaments, as you probably tell, ornaments are selling like crazy.
I found some burlap printed fabric at Joann's and made up a prim stocking. These have been selling like crazy. Burlap seems to be everywhere this year.
Well, this is a short post, just wanted to share a few items I have been making lately.

Where have I been

Where have I been, I feel like I have fell off the face of the earth.  Had a lot of medical issues to get through these past few months.  I had all my regular checkups, some problems, ended up having to go for pelvic and internal ultasounds. Luckily all they found was a big fibroid.  I can live with that. Then had my mammogram, regular checkup, colonoscopy, and all came back normal. But then all of a sudden a big growth appeared and grew and grew and I knew it was something. Had to find another doctor, a dermatologist and found out I had a squamous cell and a basil cell cancer on my nose and leg.  Had to have the mohrs surgery to remove them.  Now ffinally feeling a little bit back to normal. No more doctors for a couple of months thank GOD.
I have gotten so far behind on my orders and now trying desparately to get caught up. The wholesale group has far surpassed my expectations. We are still looking for any crafters that may want to join our group on facebook. The only items we are not accepting are candles, tarts and wood signs, so if you are a fabric artist or do something a little different, please contact me. So many of our sellers are so booked up, we are always look for new sellers.

Now I did manage to get a new pattern ready. I call this one Homespun Christmas
I will have it on the side bar if you are interested in purchasing. It is $6.00 for the e-pattern and $7.95 mailed.
Here a  few pics of the some of the items I have been working on lately. These are from my You are Specialpattern pattern line. This is the one #318 Hannah's Christmas tree. Sold quite a few of these.

I have sold a ton of these Santa ornaments, the pattern for the freebie is all the way at the bottom of the page if  you want to download it.

I made more of the snowman nodders, pattern by Sassafras Hills Primitives. These have been really good sellers for me at the shows.

Well, I am cutting out my big 3-day show that I have done since it started, over 21 years ago. Makes me sound old.  But can't do it this year, so keeping my one day show at McIntosh and going to try one more one day show a friend, told me about. Just sent in the application and will let you know more about it, if I can get it. It is only 9-4 on one Saturday. I love one day shows.

Thanks so much to everyone that emailed me and wanted to check up me. I am hoping to be blog a little more often now, that my doctor's appointments are all over with for a while. I will start my chemo sessions back up in Oct/Nov.  So I am going to try to get caught up and enjoy not having to go to the doctors.

Thursday, July 12, 2012

What a week it has been, been having medical issues, had 3 doctors appointments this week and more next week and the week after. I haven't gotten very far on my Christmas in July, so sorry about that. I made up a little bag from a free Santa graphic I found on the internet.  This little bag is very easy to do. I have it listed in the free pattern section at the bottom of the page.
I made some of my Simple Angels, I had an old red and white quilt, that I hated to cut up but I did it anyways and love the dark red on the dolls. It has been so hot here, that it is had to think of Christmas, been enjoying the pool. The water temperature is like bath water. I love the warmer water, but everyone else says it is too warm.
An older Santa pattern, that is always a favorite of mine to do.
I made some more raggedies this week, this pattern is called Ruby Ann by The Craftaholic. Love her patterns.
I know these aren't Christmas, but finished up a bunch Annies this week for a big order I am doing.
Hope you all enjoy looking at these pictures and hope to have a new pattern ready soon. The snowman is all made, just need to write up the directions.

Christmas in July

So sorry I am late getting my Christmas in July started, computer problems, had to get my program reloaded to make up pdf files. I made these little bobbin trees, these have the words stamped on their labels. I found the little tiny rubber stamps at my Walmart and have also seen them at Michael's Craft store.

I have orders for over 20 of my Santa's List pattern.  These have been great sellers for me this year.

I have been making quite of few of these mice in a mitten, pattern by Old Road Primitives. Have sold quite a few of these in the past couple of weeks. I have about 10 of them laying on Samantha's old bed. Her room is turning into a storage area for my wholesale inventory.  I am going to try to post about 3 times a week with a new project or idea. The wholesale group has me so busy, I am not finding the time to design new patterns and such. But I do have a new snowman pattern almost ready to go.  Finished him up today and hopefully have him ready to go in a fewdays.

Working on orders

Well, I have to say, I have been so busy, haven't had much time to do anything but sew lately.  So many orders from the wholesale site, we are working night and day.  My shows are in big trouble this year.  I wish I could take a pill to take the place of sleep.  I am still going to do our Christmas in July. Can't believe only a month away. This year is flying by.
Here are some of  things that I have been working on.
I have had so many orders for bears, I think I can make them in my sleep now. The Panda bear is the most popular so far.
I have had many requests for my Apple pie Annie, I had customer that waited patiently for me to get this set done, along with the Olde Rooster for a couple of months.
I found a great pattern designer love her patterns, this is one from Cat nap primitives. So quick and easy to make. I love this little guy.

Another pattern by Cat Nap Primitives, quick and easy, I need items that make up fast and this one does. I put wire whiskers on mine.

Another pattern that makes up quick is by Crow's Roost prims
I had a request to turn my #419 Sadie doll which is originally black into a prim white doll. I used flax for the hair and really like using for hair. I had never seen it before and love working with it.
I got 7 of these girls made, I call them spoon Annies, they a have wooden spoon painted black and little recipe card attached to their dresses.

I took some of the mice I have been making and put them on a mouse trap with a little piece of cheese made from beeswax. I found a mold on ebay for the cheese

a few of the mice I have been working on.
Samantha has been getting a ton of orders lately too. We work together about 2 days a week now, trying to help each other get caught up. I am not able to take any orders for about 2 months due to the amount of orders I have received, Samantha is about the same.  This venture has turned out great for us. Next year, we may consider some of the wholesale shows in Pennsylvania and take some of our members products with us. Well, time to cook dinner and get ready for hubby to come home. sorry for not posting like I should, I keep thinking I will get to post, but stay so busy right now. Hard to get anything else done.  But on the good side, my leg has finally almost stopped hurting, go back to the doctor in June, then chemo treatments again in October.  So I am trying to take advantage of the doctor free days and stay busy.  Hope you all have a great week.

Busy, busy,busy

Finally finished up an order for a wonderful customer, she has been so patient waiting for it. This is my Annie's Apple pie and The Olde Rooster. I have been working on this order for several weeks. Finally finished my chemo sessions last week. Hopefully won't have to have any more treatments until October, I have them every 6 months. I am so ready to be done with these, but unfortunately they won't ever end for me.  But now I can hopefully feel better again and get caught up on all my orders. I actually was jottingdown new pattern ideas last night or should I say at 3:30 in the morning.  I have a notebook full of ideas, now to find time to get them made up.

Made a few of these, they are from a Cat Nap Primitives patterns, love the dog, so simple and easy to make

another pattern by Catnap primitives, I love this cat.  I hope to get several of these guys made, in different colors.
this sno-Angel is from a pattern by Crow's Roost prims, I love how it turned out, very easy. I had an old quilt, I hated to cut up, but decided to make that first cut. Perfect color for the wings.
My mice are really selling well, I made over 25 of these, this ;past weekend. Here are some before grunging.
and yes, I used my good dinner plate. I painted them with a special grunge mixture.
these are ready to baked in the oven. I sprinkled with cinnamon before I baked them.
Here are some of the finished mice.  I make them on mousetraps and lot are ordering just the little mice to sit around.  I purchased a ton of mouse traps. I am sure they wondered if I had a mouse p

Grungy mice made from a pattern by Stag lane Primitives

Raggedy Ann's for a wholesale order

It has been a busy week here for me. I have been making Raggedy Ann's and bears.  I had several request for these little grungy mice, so finished up some today. It was a nice sunny day and they didn't get completely dry and so I finished them in the microwave. Hubby wanted to know what that smell was. He is not much for cinnamon and clove smells.

Tomorrow is my 3rd chemo treatment. Only one more to go, then hopefully I get to go 6 months without doctor's visits.  So tomorrow, hoping, I can get to JoAnn's after my treatment, then get something to eat.

I have to say I have been lazy on the blog lately, the wholesale site has really taken off for me.  If you are interested in selling on our facebook page, please contact me.  Or if you wish to buy, Samantha and I have a private wholesale blog set up for our wholesale products. I have about a 3-4 week waiting period, can only imagine as it gets closer to the holidays. I can't believe all the fall and Christmas items showing up already.

I promise to post more often, I miss my blogging. I have been so busy lately, with not feeling well. But have to say today is the first day, I have woke up in along time feeling almost 100%. No pain today.  So hoping that is a good sign of things to come.

Where Have I been.

It has been way too long since I last posted.  I have been working hard on the wholesale site. Things are going great. We have a great group of sellers and buyers.  We are now having to limit the sellers, but if anyone is interested, please contact me and send pics of the items you want to sell. Of course, we are still looking for buyers, just need a valid tax Id, and shop/business name, address and we can set up with our facebook group or a page that Samantha and I have created for non-facebook users.  Just contact me or Samantha for info.
The bears above made from a Sweet Meadows farm pattern have been selling like crazy. Luckily a friend had some bolts of kunin shaggy felt, she never used and sold it me.  I should have enough felt to make tons of the bears now.
I have already started offering some of my fall stuff on the wholesale site, these pumpkins w/crows have sold really well.  These are made from a pattern by Chestnut Junction.  It is hard to believe that fall will be here in about 5 months from now.

This little Annie has also been a great seller for me.  She has the feedsack pillow and apron, I then found a pig tag that matches the pillow.
I started my cancer treatments again, last Tuesday.  Tuesday was a total waste for me. It took about  4 hours to get my treatment, then afterwards, so tired, I had to sleep most of the afternoon and evening.  I have 3 more to go in this round.  So hoping I won't have to have them again for another 6 months. That seems to be my schedule now, pet/scan and treatments 6 months apart.  The worst part, October will be the next time, that is show time. It seems like that time of year for the last 2 years have been the hardest for me, taking the treatments and trying to do my shows.  I have cut down to only 2 shows this year. My favorite one day show MacIntosh and the 3 day show in Jacksonville.  With the wholesale going so well, it is going to be a struggle to get enough made for the shows this year.

Well, I have the evening to myself now.  Time to get stitching again. Our Walmart finally has fabric back in, they still haven't gotten it all, still some empty shelves, but am happy to see the $1.50 and $2.00 a bolt fabric up there.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Happy Easter and new patterns

Happy Easter everyone. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Easter. The day is beautiful here, we had our Easter Celebration Samantha and Chris last night. I even made up an Easter basket for them. I don't think Samantha will ever get too old to get a basket from me.

I managed to get a new pattern finished. I call this one the Olde Rooster. He is made on an old candlestick and include feed sack graphic for pillow. I love this one. I love chickens and kitchen is full of them. Pattern is on the side bar if you are interested for $6.00. The Rooster is about 14" on candle stick and pillow is 6" x 8".

So many have emailed about the feed sack for their dolls, we have a pattern for those, this pattern includes 4 images for feedsacks. These are just the images, to use with freezer paper. pattern is on the side bar for $5.00.

Our wholesale group is growing and bigger and bigger everyday. We have some great craftsman and buyers. Sales have really been good. I am using Samantha's old room for storage for the doll's ready to ship out. Been really busy making dolls the last few days. I can only imagine how busy we will be closer to the holidays. Samantha has been busy with the feedsack pillows and her prim line of tarts are selling great. I have so many doll orders, my friend Melissa is helping me with the sewing. If you are interested in our facebook group please contact me, I have tried to get everyone that emailed me, but am sure I missed some. So if you are interested please contact me.

Back from the show

Well, we are back from the show. Have to say it wasn't the greatest show, we did make some money. But there was not one booth I purchased from, I was picturing antiques. I thought I would come home with bobbins, wood boxes and lots of goodies. There were some good booths, but not enough. We did get to meet some fellow bloggers and made some more wholesale contacts with some shop owners.
We went to the Prim store down there and that was a treat. Hope to get back down and look around at all the shops. It is a really nice town. We are told that the fall show is the best to get into, so are thinking about Samantha and Chris doing the fall one and Todd and I doing MacIntosh.

Our wholesite starts up on April 1st. If you are interested in buying or selling on our new facebook site, please let me know. I sent out notices to alot of people for their info, but sure I missed someone. So If you did not get an email, please let me know. Right now we are doing our site on Facebook only. Hope to have a blog soon so everyone will have a chance to join if they don't do facebook.
My email has been acting up, I can't send out any emails today, so If you have emailed me and I haven't responded please know that I will as soon as it gets back up. Waiting on hubby to get home.

I have put up some of my pictures of our show. Samantha did great with her tarts, warmers and aprons. She made more of the country looking aprons and everyone loved them. Meet some of my regular customers at the show. Melanie Cox Keaton was there and meet another Sandra Schmidt, we met through facebook, our names are so similar.

Been sick this week, not feeling well, first day back on the computer. Finally figured out the pain medicine they gave me, was keeping me so tired and groggy all I could do was sleep all day. So rather suffer than be so sleepy I can't function.
