Well, I have been getting a little done this week. I dug out an old pattern from Raven's haven and made this doll. I had made her several years ago and loved her. This one is called Maude Addie. She is very prim. I didn't get too many black dolls made last year, and of course I had quite a few requests for the black dolls. So hoping to get more made this year.
I had a nice surprise in the mail yesterday from Karen Betchan. She sent me this little bunny and matching dresses. Karen you really made my day. Wasn't feeling too good and this really cheered me up. I have them setting out in living room. Just have to decide which dress to dress her in.
I had purchased some mustard plaid fabric last time I was at Joann's and wasn't sure what I wanted to make with it. I decided to make up one of Carmen's patterns up. "The Colonial Blessings" vacuum cover doll. I love this print on her. So she is now sitting by my fake fireplace.I have the pattern available on my website under The Olde Farmhouse road, or you can order from Carmen's site at: http:www.theoldefarmhouseroad.com
I just purchased this phone from Seventh Avenue and love it. I have it in my kitchen. It is so vintage looking. The only bad thing is no answering machine or caller id. So had to hook the other phone in the next room, to get messages and see who's calling. But love this phone.
I love your new doll, well you kmow i love all your things!!! That was sweet of Karen to send you that bunny, so cute!!! Hope you are feeling better!! I really love the fabric you made your vacumn cover doll from and just love that telephone!!!

ReplyDeleteHey Sandy.. glad you are feeling better and keeping busy. I was so excited to see Maude Addie as I have been looking for that pattern for ages and didn't know who the designer was. Love how the Prairie doll turned out also!

Cute black doll with sweet little goose. Love the cheesecloth apron on her!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of Karen to send you the cute little bunny and clothes!
The mustard fabric print is wonderfully prim on your vacuum cover doll! She is adorable with her bonnet, bag, and sack.
That is a really cool phone! Yeah, I'm like you... I love the look of yesteryear products, but I need some modern technology like an answering machine and caller id, lol! It is neat and will be a great conversation piece!
Its good that you are almost through your chemo treatments and you will start to feel better! You have been so busy with your sewing! I love your vacuum cover - she is just perfect! And your faux fireplace is one word: BEAUTIFUL! :)
