Makin' Reindeers, shopping, and freebie

Well, it is looking like Christmas around here, with all the Christmas things I have been working on, Santa, snowman bodies everywhere.  I got some reindeer ornaments finished up yesterday and today.  The top picture of reinder are from my pattern #426 Santa's Reindeer.  These make up real fast.  I stain the bodies with the tan rit dye, then after they are finished, I rub on the brown shoe paste polish on them to give them a more grubby look. I think I am going to display these in crock at my shows this year.

These next reindeers are from my In Flight pattern #428.  I put a bow around their necks this time and some greenery.  Another quick project to make.  I am offering a blog special on these 2 patterns.  For this week only, I am offering the e-patterns for $4.00 each so check out the side buttons to to order.

I had to go fabric shopping today, had to go buy a patriotic print. Of course, most of the patirotic fabric is gone now.  They had a bunch of fall and Christmas fabric laying on carts still packaged in the shrink wrap.  I wish they would have had it already on the shelf.  Fall flowers starting to show up on the shelves. Can't wait, I do not like summer and heat.

One week from today, I will be getting everything ready to go on our cruise on Saturday.  I did get whole bunch of new clothes.  I somehow have managed to loose about 15 pounds these last couple of months. I had a stomach problem and didn't eat for a few weeks and got used to not eating much.  I stopped drinking so much sweet tea and bought the Crystal light tea that is only 5 calories. I have been eating a lot of fruit and yogurt and it is working. It was easier than I thought it would be, finally after I started seeing the pounds come off, it gave me the motivation I needed to continue.I have about 15 pounds to go and I will be happy.  Don't know how much I will gain back on the cruise though.I bought me a kindle from Amazon books, got it yesterday and have been buying and downloading books to take with me. I love to read, I have to admit I love the Romance books with the Alpha male's. I had to restrain myself, I had purchased and downloaded 10 before I realized how many I had.

Here is another freebie I offered last year.  The Mouse in the matchbox. Just check out the free download box at the bottom.

After I get back from vacation, It will be time for a check up at the doctors, and hopefully a good report.  I plan on getting back to work full steam. I got my acceptance to my favorite one day show, I was able to get 2 booths this year. So I need to have lots to fill it.

Well that is about all for now. Happy Fourth of July to everyone and stay safe.

  1. What cute reindeer! I love how creative you are, making the chest, tummy and under tail look like white fur. You must work like a madwoman I can't believe you did all that in one day. The mouse in the matchbox is making me lose it, it's adoraaaable.
I will say a prayer for you re: your checkup, and in case I don't talk to you before, have a marvelous, wonderful time on your cruise. I bet you deserve it.
    Best Regards,
    Susan

good job on losing weight. sorry you were sick, but keep up the good work. I'm working on losing too. I joined the YMCA, boy it tough but it's great seeing the scale go down.
Which one day show were you talking about..McIntosh?? Last year was my first time going and I really like it. I think I might like it better than McInopy.
    Have a fun vacation
